The house is located on a large plot (5,500m2) with a total surface area of 230m2 plus an external surface area of 615m2.
The majority is concentrated on the ground floor, with a surface area of 200m2 plus an external area of 490m2 - divided among patios, terraces, gardens and 45m2 of swimming pool.
Whilst the first floor has a surface area of just 30m2 but with a large external area of 125m2 of roof terraces.
A large living room is at centre of the house, in-between two courtyards.
The north courtyard is set against the backdrop of the volcanos of the Montaña Colorada in the near distance. The walls of the patios frame the views of the mountains and ensure at the same time a sense of privacy and serenity.
A terrace shaded by a pergola faces towards the south courtyard and the long views of the Montaña de Arena and the Montaña de Tindaya.
A picture window in the living room and a look-out exterior room face the lava fields on the East.
Two exterior staircases - one for each courtyard - lead onto the roof terraces, from where a distant view of the sea to West can be gained.
On the ground floor the house comprises of two living rooms and three double bedrooms and bathrooms.
The second living room can be used for an alternative set of activities from the ones taking place in the main living room or as extra fifth bedroom.
The master bedroom is on the first floor and - similar to a look-out tower – has multiple aspects: South, West and North.
The house can be accessed either through the south courtyard or from the side directly into an entrance hall leading to the living rooms and the main bedrooms.
A series of facilities (showers, washing and drying areas, storage, seats, shading, etc..) are placed by the side of the entrance to assist the people coming in.
All the main rooms are accessed from the exterior areas, either through the courtyards on the ground floor or the roof terraces on the first floor.
A number of skylights allow light and natural ventilation to the middle of the floor space both in the living rooms and in key circulation areas – the entrance hall and the internal staircase.
The swimming pool is at the centre of a third courtyard, which is at a lower level connected to the main house by a flight of step.
The pool is provided with a number of facilities, including, lighting, heating, cover, a bar, an exterior shower, a store and changing room.

On the north of the Island of Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands, we built a house to make the best of holidays with family and friends.
We thought appropriate to dedicate this place to Kaiors - the Greek good of the decisive moment- the opportunity which must the grabbed at once.
The house is inspired by the Moroccan riads and the courtyard houses of the ancient Greek and Roman cities.
Exterior and exterior spaces are interlocked and the privacy of the domestic space is well protected.
Places to congregate are juxtaposed with others to relax.
Throughout the day light and shadows move in and around the house – so are the people living in it, looking for their perfect spot at each moment in time.
A number of places are sheltered when the wind is too strong and others are exposed when the wind is welcome.
